Exercise is the best way to keep fit and make your body look and feel good. Many people loathe exercising thinking that they have to toil in the gym for hours to get that attractive physique possessed by celebrities and sports people. However, developing an enviable physique is more about consistency than the sheer quantity of exercise. If you choose some simple exercises that work-out your entire body as well as specific body parts, you will be amazed to see the changes in your physique in a relatively short period of time. Aerobic exercises

Walking, jogging, running, cycling, mountain climbing, etc. are great exercises to burn excess body fat and tone the muscles of your thighs and butts. Besides working on your cardio-vascular system to improve your overall stamina they also help make your body lean by burning calories.

Body weight training

It is a misconception that one needs to go to an expensive gym and work of different exercise machines to get an attractive body. You can improve your physique even at your home by doing some simple exercises that use the weight of your own body to exercise various body parts. Some common examples of body-weight exercises are push-ups, pull-ups, dips, sit-ups, squats, abdominal crunches, etc.

If you prefer the gym environment and if it makes you feel more motivated seeing others working out, you can use the various exercise equipments and machines to gain a wonderful physique. Dumbbells and barbells are the most common free-hand weight training equipments that workout your upper body. Various machines can be used to provide great work-out for isolated parts of your body such as chest, shoulders, upper back, abs, biceps, triceps, forearms, thighs, hamstrings, calves, etc.

Swim your way to fitness

Swimming can be a great exercise if you do it properly and regularly. It is one of those natural exercises that offers many benefits along with increased stamina, burning of fat and toning of muscles in a gentle and rhythmic way. It is important to learn from a professional trainer and start with less number of laps and increase the number as you gain strength and stamina. Butterfly technique is very effective for fat-burning and shaping the body.

Yoga for a balanced workout

Yoga is a discipline that has immense potential to tone-up your entire body in a balanced and proportionate way. Unlike other exercise techniques, yoga, being primarily a spiritual doctrine, focuses on the development of the body as a whole and not as a bunch of isolated parts. The various asanas are designed to work-out the whole body from inside out. It combines the physical exercise with mental discipline, making it a complete exercise system for acquiring an enviable body.

Whichever exercise you choose, it is important that it is done regularly and consistently for a period of time to see results. The enviable body you will create for yourself will be well worth the effort you will be putting into it.
