7 Reasons to Start Waxing and Stop Shaving

Almost all of us skip the tedious task of waxing and opt for the easier option to hair free skin that is shaving.

1. Last longer

When you wax, the wax pulls out the hair from the root unlike waxing, where the hair is cut off from the top, leaving the roots underneath the skin.

Pulling out the hair from the roots makes the hair growth grow back slowly.

2. Does not irritate the skin

Waxing simply pulls off the hair from the skin. When you shave you use a lot of shaving creams and gels that irritate the skin and might even cause bumps and rashes.

Soothe the area with gel.  Waxing gets off the hair, minus all the irritation to the skin.

3. Doesn’t leave behind a 5’o clock shadow

When you don’t get a close enough shave you land up leaving tiny specs of hair on your skin that gives your skin a shadowed look. Waxing pulls off the hair entirely, not leaving room for stubble to appear.

4. Reduces hair growth

Waxing pulls the hair from the roots and if you land up waxing regularly over a period of time, you will weaken the roots of the hair so much that it stops growing.

5. Hair grows back finer

When you wax, it weakens the follicle and results in thinner hair growing back in the place of the one that was forcefully pulled off.

In the case of shaving, you are only cutting the hair and therefore it grows back thicker.

6. No cuts or scars

Shaving might be easier and faster but you always face the risk of cutting and causing nicks to your skin. Waxing doesn’t cause the risk of cuts.

7. Waxing is natural and leaves the skin smooth

Wax is made from natural ingredients like honey, sugar and water. So when it actually removes the hair, it also exfoliates the skin. Whereas when you shave, it actually removes a thin layer of skin.

So it is up to you to decide whether you want to take the easy way out or choose to start waxing that is more beneficial to your skin.
